The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) for apprentices is £3.50 an hour, however many of the employers we work with pay more as it’s important to attract the right calibre candidates to your vacancy. We’ll work with you to determine the most appropriate salary for your position based on the job description and the level of prior attainment and experience you require applicants to hold.
Once an apprentice completes their course, their wages typically rise to that of a qualified, full-time member of staff. However, many of our apprentices receive pay rises and promotions prior to completing their course – their status as an apprentice affects the minimum wage you can pay, but there’s no upper limit.Find out more about the NMW
Apprentices are entitled to at least 28 annual leave per year. Industries often subtract the 8 public holidays from this allowance each year.
Apprentices have the same right to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) as normal employees.
